Mountain Peaks, Electric City Vibes and Pink Dolphins

Hong Kong - The city has a hectic vibe to it with people hustling around, packed like sardines on the streets. The night cruise along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade was the perfect way to see the symphony of lights that beam from high rises. I appreciate the silence out on the water while seeing the high octane city in the background. I took a dolphin watch tour by boat and got to see the pink dolphins that Hong Kong is famous for.
A peaceful excursion just outside of the city is Lantau Island. I watched the sun rise from the top of Lantau Peak and saw the Tian Tan Buddha. The forest laid out a lush, green background on the island. Silvermine Beach was a great spot to catch the sunset after a laid back day on this island getaway.

Beijing - I felt the ancient history surrounding places like the Great Wall of China, with its winding wall forging across the lush countryside. Walking through the gates of the Forbidden City and the stunning statues in protection stances. A short distance from the city center is The Summer Palace which houses secret nooks within Chinese gardens. I embraced the tranquility here and read a book under a cherry blossom tree while the gentle breeze swayed the branches above me.

For a place with so many people, I was amazed at the peace you could find just a short distance from the city. The Chinese have a knack of balancing the hectic and the tranquil.
